Oral Surgery

Gentle, Experienced Surgical Dental Care

Oral surgery can help relieve pain, treat infection, remove damaged or impacted teeth, and prepare your smile for future restorative treatment.

At Tyne Dental Clinic, we understand that the thought of dental surgery can make some patients feel nervous. Our team takes the time to explain your condition, review your treatment options, answer your questions, and help you feel comfortable throughout your appointment.

Whether you need a tooth removed, are experiencing problems with your wisdom teeth, or are considering dental implants, we provide personalized surgical dental care in a calm and supportive environment.

What Is Oral Surgery?

Oral surgery includes dental procedures involving the teeth, gums, jawbone, or surrounding tissues. Some procedures may be relatively simple, while others require more detailed planning based on the position of the tooth, the condition of the surrounding bone, and your overall oral health.

Before recommending treatment, our dentist will carefully examine your mouth and may take digital X-rays to better understand the condition beneath the gums. We will then explain the findings and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

When a procedure requires the care of a dental specialist, we will discuss the referral process with you.

Oral Surgery Services

Wisdom teeth usually develop at the back of the mouth and may not always have enough space to grow in properly. A wisdom tooth may become impacted, grow at an angle, remain partially covered by gum tissue, or place pressure on the surrounding teeth.

Problematic wisdom teeth may contribute to:

  • Pain or pressure near the back of the mouth
  • Swelling or tenderness around the gums
  • Repeated gum infections
  • Difficulty cleaning the area
  • Tooth decay
  • Damage to a neighboring tooth
  • Unpleasant taste or persistent bad breath

Not every wisdom tooth needs to be removed. Our dentist will examine the area, review your X-rays, and determine whether removal or continued monitoring is the most appropriate option.

Dental Implant Surgery

Dental implants can provide a stable and natural-looking option for replacing missing teeth. An implant is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root and can later support a dental crown, bridge, or other restoration.

Successful implant treatment begins with careful assessment and planning. During your consultation, we will evaluate your teeth, gums, bone structure, medical history, and overall suitability for treatment.

Your implant treatment plan will be customized based on the number and location of your missing teeth and the condition of the surrounding tissues.
