Dental Hygiene procedures

Procedures, such as taking x-rays, performing a patient history, and examining the mouth for common oral diseases performed by a licensed dental hygienist who works independent of, or alongside dentists and other dental professionals in a team to provide full oral health care. They have the training and education that focus and specialize in the prevention and treatment of oral disease.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Crowns

If your tooth is damaged but not lost, a crown can be used to restore its shape, appearance and function. A crown, also called a cap, is a hollow, artificial tooth, which is used to cover damaged or decayed tooth. The crown restores the tooth and protects it from further damage. Crowns can also be used to cover a discoloured or misshapen tooth. A tooth that has been fixed with a crown looks and works very much like a natural tooth.

White Fillings

A composite/white filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. Composites are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the color of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth.

Bridges

A bridge, also called a “fixed bridge” or a “fixed dental prosthesis,” is a dental restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth. It extends across an area that has no teeth and is typically made up of an artificial tooth fused between 2 crowns.

Digital X-ray

It is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images and less radiation.

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

A procedure used to delicately clean teeth of plaque using miniscule vibrations to disintegrate the plaque while leaving the enamel of the tooth untouched.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth. They are an option for correcting stained, chipped, decayed or crooked teeth.

Dentures

Dentures are appliances that are custom made to replace a person's missing teeth and restore the appearance and oral functions that were lost. The denture can be either a full denture or a partial denture.
